Improving your WI-FI router signal strength

When using wireless there are some tips on how to get a better signal from your main router (the little box that allows you to share your Internet)

  1. Position your wireless router as close to the center of the house as possible.
  2. Position your wireless router high up in an area where there is nothing blocking it.
  3. Position your wireless router away from any metals or thick walls (these can block the signal).
  4. Purchase a wireless repeater (if you have a huge house you might need to do this for the signal to be stronger.
  5. Use a wireless router that has at least “Wireless N” support which will offer more coverage.

Some wireless routers allow you to also change the antenna which allows you to get a clear connection further.

LTE 4G to Wi-Fi

Sometimes you will be mobile and you will need Wi-Fi as you have many other tablets or notebook computers that don’t have access to the Internet.  Well with a device like what we have here, it takes the LTE 4G network and makes it compatible with any devices that come with Wi-Fi.  Wi-Fi is the most popular wireless signal that carries the Internet, however it is only available in small locations called “Hot Spots”.  So, almost every device that is mobile has Wi-Fi, but not every device has LTE 4G.  So this means that you can use devices that only use Wi-Fi, or share with other people around your hot spot (for example to check the weather at a picnic or get the scores for the ball game).
